Alright, so it’s late. And believe it or not, this just all popped into my head. So here it is…. “The top 5 reasons why NOW is the worst time to move”
5. Gas prices are so high that you’ll end up at your new place with an empty moving truck because you had to sell everything you owned on the way to your new house just to pay for the gas.
4. They say the prices of houses will keep going lower and lower, and at the rate they are dropping in some areas, we may be paid to live in a house instead of us buying one.
3. The cost to keep a truck on the road is getting so high that moving truck companies are being forced to find other forms of fuel., not to mention the push to make moving truck more “green”. So far over 400 moving trucks have been destroyed by companies sticking corn in the gas tanks.
2. There is still only one radio station that comes in at 2:30 AM while driving down the highway in Alabama. And the only song that is played is over and over again is, “Sweet Home Alabama”. More suicides I mean ‘accidents’ happen to moving truck drivers during that time in Alabama for some strange reason.
And finally… # 1…. Hertz, Enterprise trucks, Ryder, Penske, Enterprise rent-a-car, and Starving student movers have all decided to merge creating a new truck company. Can you guess the name? H.E.R.P.E.S. Movers. And their new slogan? Well, it’s “H.E.R.P.E.S. Movers: For those couples who are just itching to move, we promise you a bumpy ride”.

Moving truck companies. huh! I can’t tell you how many times people ask me, “what moving truck company should I use?” Nine times out of ten they are looking for a cheap moving truck that’ll get them from point A to point B. None of that fancy stuff that some of the ‘big named’ moving truck companies provide.
So here’s the deal…
Because I try to provide the latest and greated up-to-date information about cheap moving trucks, I sadly have to take a stand. And where am I standing? In the middle, of course. Now don’t get me wront, I do have my favorites. And I’m sure I could feel comfortable telling you who I think the best moving truck company is. But, being that my job, if you want to call it that is to report the news and latest tips on renting a moving truck, I’m stuck.
I could ramble on and on and tell you how much I love Budget truck rentals. Or Penske trucks are the best. Or I could say that a u-haul is the best moving truck in the world and you want to know something?
It’s not going to matter.
Why?
Because 99% of the time people will go with the cheapest moving truck they can find. And who could blame them? I mean with the gas prices where they are now, gas for a cross-country move would create quite a hole in the average person’s pocket. So many are going with the cheap moving trucks. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

Budget Moving Trucks offer the ability to add a navigation system to help you find your way… but is having a navigation system in your Budget moving truck really worth it?
The price to have a navigation system in your Budget moing truck starts at $11.95 per day. And f’rom the looks of it, they’ll give you a Garmin navigation system. My thought is this: if you are moving anywhere where you’ll need to look at a map on how to get there, then it’s worth the $11.95 a day to add it to your Budget moving truck rental.
I mean think about it. Having a navigation system in your moving truck is actually a really good idea. If you’re taking your Budget moving truck cross country or you’re going through a few states, just think if you need to find your way around an accident?
Or… if you get hungry or need gas?
I have the Garmin navigation system in my car and I use it several times a week to find a restaurant, store, etc. So my vote would be 100 percent yes, paying $11.95 per day to have a Garmin navigation system in your Budget moving truck is a great idea. You’ll save more than that on gas because you’ll know exactly where you’re going, too.
Please note that the Garmin Navigation System is not available at all Budget Moving Truck locations. You’ll want to give them a call and see if they offer one.
And by the way, if your cell phone has Bluetooth, you pair the two and have hands-free calling! And that is always a good thing when you’re driving a Budget moving truck across town or country!

Budget Moving Trucks offers a great line of moving trucks that’ll allow you to have a nice and smooth move. They offer quite a few different models that should be able to tackle nearly any moving you have whether it’s a move across town or a cross-country move.
Budget Moving Trucks offer:
1. Budget Moving Cargo Van
This moving truck is good for 1-2 room. However, this truck does not have a ramp, so be prepared to load up on some good pain killers before you start moving anything.
2. 10-foot Budget Moving Truck
This truck provides a little extra room, but you will not find a ramp on this truck either. However, it does provide you with 10 feet of clearance compared to 9 with the Budget moving cargo van.
3. 16-foot Budget Moving Truck
Now we’re getting into some serious moving truck action here. The 16-foot moving truck can pack in 3-4 rooms, provides you with a ramp, and a whopping 11 feet 6 inches of clearence.
4. 24-foot Budget Moving Truck
This moving truck is nothing short of a gas-guzzling monster. While all of the other moving trucks and moving cargo van have 35-gallon gas tanks, this Budget Moving Truck has a 55-gallon stomach. Oh yeah. I can hear the gas station sucking the cash out of our wallets with this one.
55-gallons? Really? Whew! Just wait to see the cost to fill these babies up when gas hits $4.00 a gallon!
And in case you’re wondering, this truck provides you with 11 feet 6 inches of clearence, so you should have no problem slipping your mega tall flat screen TV inside this moving truck.
In a future post, I’ll talk about the Budget Rental Truck Insurance. Is it worth it? Should you get it? Will your auto policy cover you if you are involved in an accient? We’ll be diving into that topic soon.

Under Cheap Moving Trucks+ Moving Truck Companies+ Hertz Moving Truck Rental
Are you wondering if a Hertz moving truck is right for you? Will the moving truck be big enough? Will it be too small? Will it have a 30″ flat screen TV mounted on the rear-view mirror? (Ha ha… OK, we wish.) To help you out, Hertz Moving Trucks offers moving trucks in three different sizes:
1. Hertz 15-foot moving truck
2. Hertz 20-foot moving truck
3. Hertz 24-foot moving truck
Still trying to figure out the size moving truck you need?
Some advise from someone who has goofed big-time before: Always go a little bigger than you need! Ask me how I know that one. There’s nothing like moving in the rain and realizing that you still have several boxes, a couch, and a dresser that needs to be moved and finding out that the moving truck that you rented is too small!
So here’s an easy formula that’ll help you figure out the size of the Hertz moving truck that you need.
Simply measure each item that you are moving to determine how many cubic feet the item is. Once you’ve done that, add up all of the cubic feet and divide that number by the square root of 892 and times that by the age of your dog and then simply minus the total sum of the numbers on the Hertz moving truck license plate.
Ha - only kidding here. But seriosly, when you give them a call, let me know how many rooms you’re moving and they’ll be able to tell you what you need. But be sure to account for items that will take up a lot of space like kids toys, televisions, and boxes that you really shouldn’t stack other boxes on (like glass) but usually do anyway and hope for the best.
