Are you wondering if a Hertz moving truck is right for you? Will the moving truck be big enough? Will it be too small? Will it have a 30″ flat screen TV mounted on the rear-view mirror? (Ha ha… OK, we wish.) To help you out, Hertz Moving Trucks offers moving trucks in three different sizes:
1. Hertz 15-foot moving truck
2. Hertz 20-foot moving truck
3. Hertz 24-foot moving truck
Still trying to figure out the size moving truck you need?
Some advise from someone who has goofed big-time before: Always go a little bigger than you need! Ask me how I know that one. There’s nothing like moving in the rain and realizing that you still have several boxes, a couch, and a dresser that needs to be moved and finding out that the moving truck that you rented is too small!
So here’s an easy formula that’ll help you figure out the size of the Hertz moving truck that you need.
Simply measure each item that you are moving to determine how many cubic feet the item is. Once you’ve done that, add up all of the cubic feet and divide that number by the square root of 892 and times that by the age of your dog and then simply minus the total sum of the numbers on the Hertz moving truck license plate.
Ha - only kidding here. But seriosly, when you give them a call, let me know how many rooms you’re moving and they’ll be able to tell you what you need. But be sure to account for items that will take up a lot of space like kids toys, televisions, and boxes that you really shouldn’t stack other boxes on (like glass) but usually do anyway and hope for the best.

Hertz Moving Company offers a few different choices for your moving truck rental. Hertz offers a 15 foot moving truck, a 20 foot truck, and a 24 foot truck.
One of the things that I learned is to make sure that you get a truck that will have a little more room than you may need. Getting a moving truck from Hertz Moving Company that is too small can cost you a lot more in the long run if you need to make multiple trips. Ask me how I know that! ha ha!
If you are moving a house or an apartment full of furniture, I would suggest the 24 foot Hertz Moving Truck. You should also be prepared to have your own padding, padlock, boxes, and rope to tie your furniture down.
One important lesson I learned when I got my truck from Hertz Moving Company was that it is VERY important to tie things properly. One time while moving in New Hampshire, I was driving up a reall steep hill. All in a sudden you heard a large CRASH in the back of the truck.
By the time I arrived at my new apartment, I knew I was in for a surprise when I opened the door in the back.
What did I find? EVERYTHING fell over. My TV was smashed, one of my stereo speakers was broken, and several boxes had broken open, including the one that had all of my plates and glasses.
Needless to say I need to go out and buy a new TV, stereo, and glasses and plates. This could have all been avoided if I went out and spent the $5 to get more rope. Nope, I was too lazy and thought it would be OK.
This added a good $500 to my move - BIG lesson learned! Make sure that you buy EXTRA rope so that this doesn’t happen to you when you rent your moving truck from Hertz Rental Company.

Hertz moving truck rental is found in many locations around the US. But that’s not all Hertz offers. In fact, they offer: Hertz Rent A Car, Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation, Hertz Local Edition® (HLE), Hertz Car Sales®, or Hertz Truck and Van or Hertz Leasing.
Odds are, there is a Hertz moving truck or van rental in your area. As far as moving trucks, they offer three different sizes. They offer a 15 foot truck, a 20 foot truck and a 24 foot truck. It’s always better to over estimate the space you need because there’s nothing worse than packing your boxes and belongings into the truck and then running out of room!
It’s also important to know that Hertz moving trucks do not have the extra overhead space like some other rental companies do. So keep that in mind. Hertz also offers moving vans (also called cargo vans) for those local or smaller moves across town, and they are also perfect for a small business to transport items across town.
Also, most local Hertz locations do offer packing supplies, boxes, tape, and locks. Be sure to load up on these items as the unused items can usually be returned for a refund. Running out of boxes is NO FUN when you are packing. Ask me how I know that! Ha ha!
