The best deals on moving trucks can be found online, in the newspaper, the yellow pages, and on the internet. When searching for the best deal on a moving truck, be sure to grab a pen, a phone, and start dialing moving truck companies to find out their prices.
You can find moving truck coupons in many newspapers and you can find some great deals on moving trucks on the internet. Make sure you know the size of truck that you need, if you need a trailor, and don’t forget about supplies.
I know when I was searching for the best deals on mmoving trucks, I also made sure that they sold boxes and tape. Just about every single time I moved, I didn’t buy enough moving boxes. So load up on more than you need because most moving truck companies will buy back any unused boxes.
And don’t forget: Just because you find a good deal on a moving truck, it doesn’t mean that you are getting a nice truck that has a radio, A/C, heat, etc. Sometimes it’s worth paying a little more knowing that you won’t break down in the middle of nowhere.

Under Storage+ Moving Truck Companies+ Moving Trucks+ Moving Truck Rental Deals
One little tip that just came to mind has to do with storage. Our last move was crazy. We had storage units in 2 states over 2,000 miles apart from each other. One was heater and the other had a/c as they were in two totally different climates.
Everything was stored for a year and we learned an important lesson. Make sure if you rent a storage unit in a climate that is hot and humid - even though it has a/c, make sure you buy a TON of those buckets that suck the humidity out of the air. We didn’t have enough of them and some of the furniture that had wood had mold on it.
Not good! So make sure you load up on those things. You can usually buy them at Home Depot or any long-term storage building.

Under Moving Truck Rental Deals
If you want to get a moving truck rental deal, from past experience when I have hired a truck to do some packing the process goes like this:
- Ring the company that you have found do the best price ask if they have any trucks available in the size you need. He will most likely say yes if you are on a weeknight and on a weekend it will be touch and go. Agree a rough price for the day or however many days you need it then ask him what time it will be ok to pop in and agree the finer details.
- Once you have agreed these details go in and build up a relationship with the dealer. If you fancy yourself as a bit of a money saving expert have a go at negotiating the price down from the original one quoted on the phone, I can guarantee if the dealer likes you, you will get some sort of discount. It may not be money off the truck rental but it might me some fuel in the tank or he might make sure the time the truck is delivered to you will be nice and early so you can get started before the rush hour.
- Once this has been done sort out the insurance details, time/date etc. Pay the money and the deposit and wait for the delivery and away you go. While this is happening sound very grateful for discount he has given you whatever shape of form it is in.
- Remember don’t be scared to ask for discount this is the best way to get a saving. There will be a large gap between prophet and loss in these companies. They can always afford to give you money off or petrol in the tank. Even if it is a $20. This adds up here and there. Go for it, don’t feel bad it is the customers right.
