There are many local and national moving truck companies to choose from. And choosing the right moving truck company may help you save not only money, but also many headaches. Ask me how I know that!
During my many moves, I would search on the internet and through the Yellow Pages trying to find a list of moving truck companies in my area. Depending on where you live, you may have to drive a ways to go and pick up your moving truck.
When I lived in the north east, I often had to drive an hour to pick up a truck, compared to having to only drive about 10 minutes when moving to or from Houston. Below is a list of some national moving truck companies that I have either used or have seen in my travels. Keep in mind that if you are moving locally, sometimes you can save money renting a moving truck from a smaller company.
But also keep in mind that you’ll get what you pay for! Cheap moving truck companies are out there… but so are moving trucks with major probolems. You wouldn’t want the truck to break down and have to move your belongings from one truck to the other!
OK… so here is that list I mentioned (in no special order):
1. Penske
2. Budget
3. U haul
4. Ryder
5. Two Men and a Truck
6. Wheaton Moving Company
7. ABF U-Pack Moving
8. Hertz
9. UPS Freight Trailors
10. Local Movers
For my last move, I used someone who owned his own truck and had his son, his son’s girlfriend, and his wife working for him. They traveled the country moving people in their own truck. The way I found them was simply asking people who they knew of as far as moving truck companies.
I did pay a little more for them as they loaded the truck for me and met me down in Texas a week later at our new house. All the while we drove down in a nice and comfortable car and relaxed. Diving a car a few thousand miles is a lot less stressful than driving a huge moving truck towing a car. Ask me how I know that!!!

Under Budget Moving Truck+ Moving Trucks+ Moving Truck Rental
A Budget moving truck may be one of your best choices when moving across town or cross country. Budget usually provides some excellent deals and you may even be able to find some valuable coupons to get a % off on your Budget truck rental.
If you happen to have an American Express card, Budget is running a special right now where you can save 15% off any rental. I wish they had this special when I moved cross country. I would have saved about $200 bucks!
One of the advantages of renting a Budget moving truck is that you should end up with a truck that is in excellent condition. Unlike many other moving truck rental companies, they replace 25% of their fleet each year. So odds are you won’t have to deal with an air conditioning system that doesn’t work or a radio that 0nly works on AM and only one speaker works!
As far as the sizes of trucks that Budget offers, they have:
- A 10 foot cargo van
- A 10 foot moving truck
- A 16 foot moving truck
- A 24 foot moving truck
The 24 foot Budget moving truck is perfect if you are moving 5-8 rooms worth of furniture and boxes and you can have up to 12,000 pounds worth of items loaded up onto the truck. Also, the 24 foot truck is the only truck that Budget has that has 3 seatbelts, all of their other moving trucks have just 2.
And one other important difference is that all of the moving trucks have a 35 gallon gas tank. The 24 foot truck has a 55 gallon tank. So if you’re looking to haul a lot of furniture on your move, I would suggest a 24 foot Budget moving truck for your needs.

Under Self Moving Truck Rental+ One Way Moving Truck Rental+ Moving Trucks+ Moving Truck Rental+ Hertz Moving Truck Rental
Hertz moving truck rental is found in many locations around the US. But that’s not all Hertz offers. In fact, they offer: Hertz Rent A Car, Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation, Hertz Local Edition® (HLE), Hertz Car Sales®, or Hertz Truck and Van or Hertz Leasing.
Odds are, there is a Hertz moving truck or van rental in your area. As far as moving trucks, they offer three different sizes. They offer a 15 foot truck, a 20 foot truck and a 24 foot truck. It’s always better to over estimate the space you need because there’s nothing worse than packing your boxes and belongings into the truck and then running out of room!
It’s also important to know that Hertz moving trucks do not have the extra overhead space like some other rental companies do. So keep that in mind. Hertz also offers moving vans (also called cargo vans) for those local or smaller moves across town, and they are also perfect for a small business to transport items across town.
Also, most local Hertz locations do offer packing supplies, boxes, tape, and locks. Be sure to load up on these items as the unused items can usually be returned for a refund. Running out of boxes is NO FUN when you are packing. Ask me how I know that! Ha ha!

Are you moving cross country? What a headache! When I moved cross country, it was during the winter and I was towing my car behind the big Penske moving truck I rented. It was the first week of January and I was moving from Texas to New England.
The drive through most of the states went well besides some white-knuckle driving when I was going through construction and I old had an inch on the left of me by a wall and an inch to the right of me by other cards. (That lasted about 40 miles - I was a wreck!)
But when I got into the mountains of Pennsylvania, that’s when the fun started. The wind was blowing the renal truck all over the highway. My car that I was towing behind me would shift from one side to the next. And then the blinding snow came. Almost out of nowwhere blizzard-like conditions rolled in. I thought about pulling over but feared that the moving truck wouldn’t be able to get traction if I stopped trying to go up hill.
When we reached the top of one mountain, you couldn’t see 5 feet in front of you. I had the flashers on and was going about one mile an hour. Another moving truck (also a Penske moving truck) passed me on the right and scared the heck out of me. I didn’t see him coming.
And within about a minute later, the snow stopped and there was blue sky. The rest of the ride at that point went well, but I’ll never forget the white-knuckle road construction battle or the 10-15 minute blizzard that made moving cross country a little hairy at times.

Under Moving Truck Rental Minnesota+ Self Moving Truck Rental+ Moving Trucks+ Cheap Pickup Truck Rental
Looking for a moving truck rental in Minnesota? Well you’re in luck! Minnesota is home to several moving truck rental companies, so you should be able to find yourself a great deal. We’ll share some of those companies with you in a moment, but first let’s make sure you dot all your i’s and cross all of your t’s before renting your moving truck. (Or pick up truck or van.)
Now one a few things that you will want to consider when renting a moving truck in Minnesota is if it’s the winter, make sure the truck has heat!
You’d be surprised how many stories there are out there of people renting a moving truck in Minnesota and they were stuck with a truck that had no heat. This is something you really need to watch out for when renting a moving truck during the winter months in areas that get snow and cold.
I remember one time I was moving from an apartment in New Hampshire in February and rented a moving truck. New Hampshire and Minnesota are pretty much the same when it comes to the cold in February. And on this day the sky was clear blue and the winds were blowing 20-40 miles an hour. The windchill was 20-30 below zero and if you spit, it would freeze before it hits the ground.
I arrived to the moving truck rental place and noticed that there was only one truck there. I RAN in, got the keys and started the truck - which it finally did start after a few attempts. I then ran back to my car and waited 15 minutes for the truck to warm up.
When I jumped back in the truck - it was still freezing in there! To make a long story short, I was stuck with the truck because I had to move that day and I had to keep scraping the ice off the windshield - on the inside! My breath created ice inside the truck windshield and it was the coldest drive of my life. Thankfully it was a move to a town only 15 minutes away. But still - it was NOT fun!
So when you stop into the moving truck rental place in Minnesota - make sure the truck has heat… and that it works! And bring some extra warm cloths just in case you get stuck with a truck that has no heat. :) Below are a few places you can try. Remember to get several quotes and look for deals for cheap moving truck offers!
Moving Truck Rental in Minnesota Companies:
1. Penske Moving Trucks of Minnesota
2. U-Haul Moving trucks and moving vans
3. Budget Truck Rentals
I wish you the best on your move to or from Minnesota. And by the way… I hope that it’s you’re moving in the summer!

Are you moving and looking for a renta truck? There are several moving companies available when searching for a moving renta truck. Depending on what area you live in, there are several moving companies that you can choose from whether you are moving local our you want a renta truck for a 1 way move.
A few of the companies that offer a moving renta truck are:
Budget Truck Rentals
Penske Truck Rentals
Uhaul Truck Rental
Ryder Truck Rentals
2 Men and a Truck Moving Company
If you need a moving renta truck that will load your good and drive to your new house or apartment for you, there are a few companies to choose from:
1. North American Van Lines
2. Allied Van Lines
3. Wheaton Van Lines
Be sure to cotact several of these moving companies so you can get a quote from them. And don’t always go for the lowest price. I have moved a good six times over the last few years and I learned my lesson going with the cheapest moving renta truck company I found. As they say, you get what you pay for - and that holds true in the moving truck industry. That’s for sure.
Moving isn’t usually fun, it’s easy to lose things, and on top of moving, you have to worry about making sure the lights are turned on, you have heat or A/C in your new home, and at least 1,000 other things. Also, another little tip for you is to keep a notebook around at all times when calling moving renta truck companies and during your move. Keep a list of the ‘to-do’s’ and document EVERYTHING during your move as well.
Just lessons I’ve learned the hard way.

Under Moving Trucks
There is a wide range of cheap moving truck rental vehicles that you could choose from. There are trucks to suit all your needs. There is a list below giving you advice about which truck you will need. These are the typical choices Please read:
1. Panel Van: this is a medium sized moving truck rental vehicle. It will suit the needs of somebody with a small home with not many belongings. They are the cheapest to rent and come with air conditioning and an automatic transmission that will make it very easy to move house. The vehicle provides comfort and usability but does not provide a large space. It has a very smooth slide door for unloading and loading your cargo, which will decrease the effort needed in the whole process of moving. Finally there is a slate interior that will protect your goods. This is a medium priced vehicle that I would only advise for small moving truck rentals.
2. Parcel van: This is a large sized moving truck rental vehicle. It will suit the needs of somebody with a normal sized home with an average amount of belongings. They are not the cheapest to rent but will provide you with a lot of space. They have an automatic transmission and power steering that will make it very easy to move house. There is a walk ramp that will also make it easier to move house. This is especially good for people who are less mobile. There is a convenient walkthrough door from cab to box and enhanced visibility, which will make you safe in your journey. This is a high priced rental vehicle that I would advise to be used for the average family.
3. Straight truck: This is a very large sized moving truck rental service. It will suit the needs of somebody with a very large house with lots and lots of belongings. They are very expensive to rent. In a way you get what you pay for. It has different dock heights with hydraulic lift gates for very heavy goods. There is a side door very convenience and a slate interior to protect your goods. This is the rental moving truck that somebody like P Diddy would use. You can choose the size of truck you need starting from 16ft to 24ft. Overall this is a very good truck but it costs a lot of money to hire. I would recommend this to somebody with a very large house and family.
